- Accommodations – Hotels, lodges, or tents during the scheduled itinerary depending on the type of trip.
- Transportation – To and from the meeting point.
- Meals – All meals specified in the itinerary.
- Guide(s) – For groups of 6 people or less, one guide will be provided. Groups of 7 or more will have two guides, with the exception of camping and backpacking trips which will always have two guides.
- Entrance fees- For the National/State Parks, or Monuments.
- Gratuities – Hotels & restaurants gratuities are included with the exclusion of your personal purchase of alcohol.
- All chores – Including meal prep, washing dishes, loading of support van, etc by the guides

- Pre/Post-trip Hotel Accommodations – Hotel reservations before and after the trip must be made by participants. Please contact us if you would like recommendations.
- Air travel – Participants are responsible for booking their own airfare.
- Travel Insurance – This can be beneficial for lost luggage, flight delays, unexpected illness, injury while traveling, and emergency evacuation for medical or personal. We highly suggest that you protect yourself and your investment.
- OC recommends Seven Corners for trip insurance.
- Alcohol
- Gratuities for your guides – Gratuities for you guides are not included in the trip price. It is courteous to tip 10-15% of the trip total to your guide/s.
Is there a skill level required for your tours?
No, we welcome all ability levels. However, the more you train and prepare yourself for your trip, the more enjoyable your experience will be.
Is there an age requirement for your trips?
Due to the nature of the activities, we do have a minimum age of 16 for all of our departures. If you are interested in traveling with younger kids, please consider booking a private trip.
Our trips do not have a maximum age restriction. If you are physically capable of completing the itinerary, you are welcome to join. Depending on your health history, OC may require a physician’s note confirming your physical ability to ensure your safety on our trips.
Are your guides certified?
Yes. All of our lead guides hold a minimum of a Wilderness First Responder (WFR) certification that is maintained with recertification/skills refresher every 2 years. All are CPR certified, as well.
How many people will be on my tour?
We are a small travel company, specializing in intimate and immersive experiences. We limit our group sizes to 12 participants, with a 4 person minimum required for each trip. Please contact us directly for custom itineraries or large group bookings.
Will there be access to medical facilities if needed?
Most of the locations that we travel to are remote. The nearest medical facility could be hours away. It is recommended that you travel with all necessary medications, and ensure that you have clearance from your medical provider for the level of activity of your tour. If during your trip you are in need of medical attention, your guide will be able to transport you or arrange transport to a medical facility, this will come at your own expense (for this reason, trip insurance is recommended).
Do you recommend arriving before the designated start date of a tour?
Yes. Traveling can have unexpected delays and complications. In order to ensure that you are able to meet the group on time, we highly recommend arriving a day early. If you are late to the departure for your trip, you may be responsible for meeting your group en route (this is something that travel insurance can help with).
Can I book a flight the same day that the trip ends?
In order to be considerate of your fellow travelers and your guides, please do not book a return flight within 2 hours of the scheduled completion of the trip. We try to make sure that there’s full value in each day of our trips, including the last day.
What is your cancellation policy?
A 20% deposit is required at the time of booking and is refundable until the trip is confirmed at 4 participants. Once your departure is confirmed, your complete payment will be due within 60 days of confirmation.
45 days before departure, 50% of the trip total cost is refundable.
30 days or less before departure, 0% of the trip total cost is refundable.
Please consider travel insurance to protect the investment in your vacation plans. Travel (or trip) insurance is available from several companies. We recommend that you carefully review their policies as many provide different levels of protection.
